Kathmandu is an amazing place, the people are so friendly and welcoming. The general vibe is quite laid back. You may even spot a random cow weaving in and out of traffic along the bustling main roads. It so strange to see the afternoon traffic come to a sudden halt in front of a dazed and confused cow chewing it's cud.
Gem and I spent a few days in Kathmandu and then we headed off to Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal which can be found resting on a beautiful lake nestled between monstorous mountains with the Himalayas as a backdrop. The scenery was absolutely amazing, I've posted a photo from the top of one of the mountains looking down into the Pokhara valley.
My favourite food while over there was a dish called "Chick Chilli"
basically it's just fried chicken, capsicum & tomato coated in spicy chilly sauce served with fresh slices of cucumber. This stuff is so tasty, I know it's not the healthiest thing to eat but I couldn't get enough - and it was so cheap. And the best drink to go with this is a fresh cold banana or mixed fruit lassi - mmmm MMMMM mmmm :D
Now for all you pixel pushers out there - the wait is nearly over. I'm currently finalising the pixel design community which will be named "Pixelicious" as voted by you. So stay tuned - the light is at the end of the tunnel :D
