How to Survive a Parent Teacher Interview

*Shudders*

Now you’re back at school it’s time to review the ‘Parent Teacher Interviews’ that happen in Terms 1 and 3. Here are five facts to look at when going to a Parent Teacher Interview.

1. Never look panicked. - When you look panicked, your parents think that you’ve done something bad, and always, you will get grounded

2. Always respond when your teacher is giving you constructive criticism. - When you’re looking up at the sky and daydreaming, the teacher thinks you’re not listening to a word he/she says, so always pay attention for that extra feedback

3. Always tell the truth to your parents. After the interview they will most likely ask you, ‘why did your teacher say that about you?’ Always tell your parents the truth, don’t lie because they will ALWAYS find out

4. Always enter the room with good body posture. - If a teacher observes you with your head down or your positioning down incorrectly, that will give them more notification that you know you have done something wrong

5. After the interview, make sure that the teacher was honest. - Sometimes when I have observed parent teacher interviews, I notice that some teachers lie to make themselves look good or maybe they’re just too old and can’t remember who you are ;). So always think to yourself, did this teacher tell the truth?

These are five brief facts about Parent Teacher Interviews. After an interview, make sure you have accomplished these 5 quick and easy facts.
