Most of you would have already caught on to the virtual Habbo dating that everybody’s into, but if you don’t be careful it could result in the loss of your furni etc.
Most of these “relationships” will start out with a Habbo coming up to you and asking you to go out with them. Most of you will say yes, but you have to be careful of where this may lead.
1. The - "I have a great idea, let’s put all of our furni in my room so we can have a house".
DO NOT fall for this. It is possible that this person is only trying to scam you for your furni. Once you put your furniture down in someone else’s room you cannot get it back unless the person gives it back to you. No matter how well you think you know this person it is best to say no.
2.The - "Let’s meet up in real life"
This is extremely dangerous. The best idea is not to accept this. The person you think you know could turn out to be some old woman and not the person that told you she was 16, was single, had blue eyes and long blonde hair. But on the other hand if you really feel meeting up with this person is the right thing get permission from your parents or guardian, agree to a safe and local place and get a trusted adult to come with you.
3. The - "Babe, I’ve got a present for you but I need your password"
This could turn ugly. Firstly, you should be abiding by the Habbo Way which is to not give out your username and password. In the event that you do you should be on HIGH ALERT. If someone has access to your account they could do anything they wanted such as:
- Delete people on your friends list.
- Abuse your friends.
- See personal information i.e. e-mail.
- Steal your furniture.
- Waste your credits
Does that convince you not to share your account details? I hope this information has helped you - especially those newer members of Habbo. Take care!
