A lot of people will agree when I tell you this, but in a community as large as Habbo a lot of myths get around, not to mention downright lies. Consequently, many new Habbos are prime victims of these myths, and in some cases it may cost someone their furniture, or their reputation.

Myth 1: Pressing either “alt+f4” or “alt+f5” with automatically give you free Credits/furniture.
During long line-ups at giveaways, many Habbos can grow impatient so they shout out in the room “press alt+f4 for free furniture”. This is false and while many Habbos reading this will think “well what moron would do that?”, the answer is Habbos who are not familiar with the Hotel or computers in general. By pressing either of these buttons you are either exiting the web browser or refreshing it, thus you will no longer be in the line up for that free furniture.

Myth 2: Habbo will give your computer viruses.
Many people worry that Habbo can give your computer viruses, but the truth is it’s totally VIRUS FREE. All you need to do is maybe download Shockwave and register which costs absolutely zilch. So if you were ever hesitant about Habbo don’t be, as it is completely harmless to your computer.

Myth 3: There are special MOD Habbo IDs which can get you free credits.
Total myth. All over the web I have seen websites and videos dedicated to trying to scam Habbos by giving them a look at this so-called special ID. It states that by using your landline to purchase credits, when the operator asks for your Habbo ID, by giving them the “special MOD ID” you’ll get free credits and the phone call will cost you nothing. FALSE. The Habbo ID which you are giving actually belongs to a fellow Habbo trying to scam your money. This is considered stealing and it will cost whoever pays for the phone bill $3.00 per phone call. This may not seem like much to you, but think of all the other phone calls you have made and add that together. So remember, there is no such thing as MOD IDs which can get YOU free Credits.
